Yet I remain intimately aware of the hardships created by systemic economic inequity. Far too often, this kind of profound and direct access to healing remains out of reach for many — especially those from historically marginalized and underserved communities — many of whom are the progeny of the original channels and stewards of these very same methods and medicines, who were then forbidden from turning to their traditions and relations. The same traditions, methods, and medicines we turn to now, in hopes, in part, of restoring this ancient birthright.
I believe that healing and spiritual counsel should remain accessible while honoring the real costs of sustaining this work in an ambiguously hostile environment, while protecting sacred medicines and the intrinsic traditions. With many of these considerations held closely to my heart, I hope to continually grow and foster an equitable balance, a part of which includes the provision of a sliding scale.
Sacred exchange is not only monetary. It may also include acts of service, creative offerings, or gifts meaningful to you, as appropriate, when clearly discussed and mutually agreed upon. My intention is that this healing path remains rooted in sacred repair, the guardian presence of fierce compassion, holistic community care, and the weaving of a more balanced world for the many generations to come.
The health of one is the health of all. May our exchanges nourish not only our personal healing, but may they tend to the thriving of this kaleidoscopic prismatic miracle we are beholden and belong to.
As inspired by the writings of Alexis J. Cunningfolk, and the implementation of the sliding scale by kindred Medicine Sisters in the work, I have incorporated it below to help ease and facilitate allocating and accessing these modalities within the framework of your life.
